Laminated glass is composed of two or more pieces of glass with one or more layers of polyvinyl butanal film (PVB) through pressure and heating. Since the refractive index of the PVB film sandwiched in the glass is very close to the glass itself, the sandwich can maintain the same purity and transparency as ordinary glass. When the glass is broken, its fragments are still glued to the PVB film. Therefore, this is a kind of safety glass.
